Painter
As a Painter with Novant Health, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and professional healthcare environment by repairing and restoring interior finishes throughout the hospital. Schedule & Work Environment
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- No routine on-call or weekend schedule
- Must be flexible to respond to the changing and sometimes urgent needs of a hospital environment
- Work is performed in active patient care areas alongside patients, visitors, and clinical team members
What You'll Do:
- Paint walls, trim, and fixtures throughout healthcare facilities
- Patch and repair drywall, plaster, and other wall surfaces
- Install wall coverings, corner guards, and wall protection materials
- Lay cove base and replace floor coverings as needed
- Replace and install ceiling tiles
- Estimate materials and labor for assigned projects
- Safely use hand and power tools appropriate to the trade
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Four years of relevant work experience accepted in lieu of diploma
Experience
Minimum one year of hands-on experience in painting, patching, and installing wall coverings, ceiling tile, wall protection, rubber base, and floor coverings required
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Commercial or apartment maintenance experience preferred
Licensure/Certification
- Valid driver’s license required

- Skilled with hand and power tools used in painting and finish work
- Ability to plan work, estimate materials, and manage basic job costs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accurately distinguish colors
