About Virginia Psychology

Virginia Psychology is a growing multidisciplinary outpatient mental health practice dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care across the lifespan. We are a private-pay, out-of-network practice offering patients access to Reimbursify for insurance-reimbursement assistance and CareCredit for flexible payment options.

We are seeking an independently licensed therapist who enjoys working with adults to join our collaborative team in Richmond, Virginia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who wants to provide thoughtful, individualized psychotherapy within a supportive private-practice setting. The therapist will provide individual psychotherapy while collaborating with psychologists, therapists, psychiatric providers, assessment providers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Virginia Psychology also provides comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, including specialized assessment for ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning differences, and diagnostic clarification. This multidisciplinary approach allows our therapists to incorporate diagnostic findings and individualized recommendations into treatment planning when clinically appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based individual psychotherapy to adults.
• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Diagnose and treat mental health and adjustment-related concerns within the clinician’s scope of practice.
• Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment approaches according to clinical needs.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, psychiatric providers, assessment providers, primary care providers, and other clinicians to coordinate patient care.
• Collaborate with assessment psychologists regarding adults with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning differences, and co-occurring mental health concerns when clinically appropriate.
• Incorporate psychological and neuropsychological evaluation findings into treatment planning when clinically appropriate.
• Communicate with family members and other treatment professionals when clinically appropriate and properly authorized.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case consultation and clinical review as appropriate.
• Maintain ethical and professional standards consistent with applicable licensing-board requirements.
• Contribute to the continued development of adult behavioral health services and a collaborative clinical culture.
• Develop professional relationships with referral partners and community providers.

Qualifications

• Independently licensed in Virginia as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or clinical psychologist, or able to obtain independent Virginia licensure before beginning clinical work.
• Experience providing outpatient psychotherapy to adults.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, treatment-planning, documentation, and communication skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based, individualized, and patient-centered care.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with psychologists, psychiatric providers, primary care providers, and other treatment professionals.
• Interest in working within a multidisciplinary behavioral health practice.
• Experience providing psychotherapy to adults with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and commonly co-occurring mental health concerns is especially welcomed but not required.
• Interest in collaborating with assessment psychologists to translate diagnostic findings into coordinated treatment recommendations is strongly valued.

Compensation

This is a part-time, fee-for-service independent-contractor position. Compensation is $75–$105 per completed clinical session and is commensurate with the clinician’s licensure, experience, specialization, and services provided.

The position offers the opportunity to expand clinical hours and earnings as the clinician’s caseload grows.
