Accounting Intern – Trade Promotions & Accounts Receivable

We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Intern to support our Trade Promotions and Accounts Receivable team. This role provides hands-on experience with deduction processing, promotional tracking, and financial operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update deduction backup for key customer accounts (C&S, UNFI, Safeway, Kroger)
• Ensure all backup documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
• Research and retrieve missing backup from customer portals and internal systems
• Assist with processing deductions including vendor compliance (VCs), shortages, spoils, and unloading charges
• Support processing of promotional deductions and validate claims against agreed terms
• Track and update deduction activity in Excel and shared files
• Help organize documentation for audits and reporting
• Assist with administrative tasks including mail, checks, and scanning
• Support ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with large datasets or document-heavy processes
